ABOUT TOM BLAKE
Tom pictured here after arriving in Hawaii for the first time in 1924. Tom had bought this board from Edric Cooke. This surfboard was Tom’s first personally owned board. He became the first surfer from the mainland United States to establish the ritual of surfing migration from North America to Oahu, Hawaii. The first man to surf at Malibu point after setting up a residence in Santa Monica, Tom was influential in establishing the surfer lifestyle we all know today. From his earlier work in the movie industry, Tom was taught how to strike a pose more interesting to the viewer.
